WE DID IT! The votes are in, and we ratified our new contract!

We won strong yearly raises, preserve retirement and healthcare benefits, improve educational opportunities, and protect quality care in new 4-year contract.

4,500 healthcare workers in Oregon and Southwest Washington who are members of SEIU Local 49 voted overwhelmingly to ratify a new four-year contract at Kaiser Permanente. The contract settlement will revitalize the long-standing worker-management partnership with the 85,000-member Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions, and accomplish a set of goals to make sure Kaiser is the best place to receive and give care. Tentative Agreement Summary & Ratification Vote Schedule

We stood together. We picketed & rallied. We were ready to strike and make an historic sacrifice to protect our patients and our jobs. Picket shifts and upcoming events

It’s more important than ever that we stand united and show Kaiser executives that we will not accept a new National Agreement that includes low raises and takeaways to our healthcare and retirement benefits.

Our national bargaining team is preparing Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions members for a 7-day unfair labor practice strike beginning October 14 if we do not settle a strong tentative agreement at national bargaining this week. Organizers and SEIU Local 49 bargaining team members are visiting worksites to discuss the strike and sign SEIU 49 members up to commit to picket shifts. Elected officials stand in solidarity with Kaiser workers

Support from elected officials continues to grow in our fight for a new national agreement that protects our patients, rebuilds our partnership, and gets Kaiser back on track. As we head toward a possible unfair labor practice strike on October 14, our elected leaders have signed letters expressing their solidarity with us–the healthcare workers who make Kaiser Permanente THRIVE.
