Picket shifts and upcoming events

It’s more important than ever that we stand united and show Kaiser executives that we will not accept a new National Agreement that includes low raises and takeaways to our healthcare and retirement benefits.

Our national bargaining team is preparing Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions members for a 7-day unfair labor practice strike beginning October 14 if we do not settle a strong tentative agreement at national bargaining this week. Organizers and SEIU Local 49 bargaining team members are visiting worksites to discuss the strike and sign SEIU 49 members up to commit to picket shifts.

Where will our strike take place?

Our bargaining team elected to hold 5 major picket lines or “hubs” at Sunnyside, Westside, Interstate, Cascade Park, and N. Lancaster. We recommend that you join one of those picket lines; however, you are welcome to picket at any worksite, even if it’s not one of the 5 hubs.

6-hour picket shifts will be from 7am – 1pm, and 1pm – 7pm each day of the strike.

Logistical details are still being ironed out that we should be able to answer as we get closer to strike time. If you have specific questions about your personal circumstance, visit the Strike FAQ or call your Contract Action Team member.
