Earlier this year, our Coalition filed an unfair labor practice charge against Kaiser Permanente, because we knew Kaiser could not legally suspend National Agreement negotiations, nor force us to sign a new Partnership Agreement as a precondition to bargaining.
Now, we just heard good news that the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) agrees with us that Kaiser broke the law!
According to the NLRB, it was illegal for Kaiser to refuse to bargain with us and unless we signed a new agreement first. We’ll share more details as we have them, but this victory pushes us closer to winning our BEST contract ever!
We know even when Kaiser does come to the bargaining table that they want to cut our benefits, make us pay more for healthcare, outsource more of our jobs and not pay us the wages we truly deserve. So, we need all members to continue to stay active and involved so we can get a great contract and protect our benefits. Keep wearing your SEIU and purple buttons and gear at work and sign these petitions to show Kaiser our unity!
Make sure your voice is heard!
If you haven’t already, make sure you sign our petition to CEO Bernard Tyson to tell him to meet us at the table.
